National sensational rider Anuar Manan is determined to get a hattrick while defending his title as Sprint King and keep the Blue jersey he won two years in a row.

Representing a new team this year, Azad University Cycling Team, Anuar expected the ‘complete’ team would be posing quite a threat especially to the continental team, LeTua.

"I would like to forget the ‘nightmare’ I had during the previous Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) and I do hope I would not be facing any problem that might fail my mission to hold on to the blue jersey and also ensure the overall team win for Azad.”

Apart from Anuar who is the defending Sprint King, Azad is also featuring Amir Zargari, the climb expert who was the KOM of Jelajah Indonesia (Tour of Indonesia), sprinter is Hossien Nateghi who was in 16th place in the best overall rider categorization of LTdL 09, Junior World Champ previous winner Eugen Wacker, and another two Iranians Abbas Saeiditanha and Hamid Shiriseysan.

The 23-year old rider, who were supposed to be joining the team last September, had to postponed his wish due to sponsorship matter.

The rider who hails from Kuala Ibai, Terengganu said that his ability with his new teams would be tested in his debut with the new team during the Tour of Thailand, which will be held from 4th to 9th April.

"In Thailand, I would have the chance to improve my cooperation and understanding with the team members as a team. What we accomplish from there on will be the benchmark to our accomplishment in Jelajah Malaysia this year.”

"I had been competing with them before but this time I would be riding side by side with them as a team to achieve one aim, to win all the jerseys and be the overall team winner," he added.

Anuar is undergoing training in Kuantan, Pahang with his personal trainer Rahim Kadir before joining team Azad in Thailand in April.

Anuar said that after the tour in Thailand, every team members including their trainer (team Azad) will for go training in Malaysia as their preparation to face the challenge in Jelajah Malaysia.

"Team Azad and I will be training here in Malaysia to prepare for Jelajah Malaysia. Our training will take place either around Kuala Lumpur or in Kuantan. We will see which will be better for the team," he added.

Rahim said that Anuar’s fitness level has been improving and during the Tour of Thailand, Anuar will be in his best fitness condition.

"I am sure that Anuar will be giving his best in terms of challenge and ride this year," he added.

Previously Anuar represent LeTua in Jelajah Malaysia last year and managed to secure the Sprint King title two years in a row. Somehow or rather his performance in the previous LTdL was not up to expectation due to technicality setbacks thus the lack of achievement in the tour.
