KUALA LUMPUR: Once again MILO becomes one of the sponsors of Jelajah Malaysia (JM) 2009, which will kick off from 19th to 26th April.
Executive Chairman Datuk Astaman Abdul Aziz said that MILO’s relentless support gives JM the opportunity to enhance the quality of the race every year.
"Popular chocolate malt drink, MILO has always been one of the best energy drink for both physical and sports activities. I am contented as MILO has always support us in the organizing of JM," he stated at Ten Speed Events Sdn Bhd’s office today.
He quoted the above during the announcement of MILO sponsorship and side event, which will be an added value during JM 2009.
Astaman said that the side event, which is better known as “Aksi Stunt Kreatif Basikal” (AKAL), will be an event for all including modified bicycle competition, Wheelie King, Vkang King and Sprint King.
"All events can be participated by all ages such as modified bicycle competition which will be an opportunity for those 20-inch bicycle and mini frame to be creative modifying their bicycles while Vkang King will be for those talented fews who can raise the rear wheel the farthest," he added.
He said that there will be no registration fees and the event will be held in seven location; Old Town Hall, Ipoh this 19th April; Dataran Jam Besar, Sungai Petani (20th April); Dataran Tanah Merah, Tanah Merah (21th April); Dataran Syahbandar, Kuala Terengganu (22th April); Padang MPK1, Kuantan (23th April); Dataran Kerayong, Bandar Bera (24th April) and Dataran Merdeka Kuala Lumpur (26th April).
"Jelajah Malaysia 09 Cycling Festival highlights is the KL BMX Jam apart from AKAL Final Showdown which will feature the winners and second runner-ups of all six stages to fight it all out in the final showdown."
Jelajah Malaysia 2009 of 2.2 categorization by the International Cycling Union (UCI), will be held from 19th to 26th April is organized by Ten Speed Events Sdn Bhd.
The eight-stage race of 1240km in distance will commence from Kuala Selangor to Ipoh, stage 2 (Ipoh - Sungai Petani), stage 3 (Gerik - Tanah Merah), stage 4 (Pasir Mas - Kuala Terengganu), stage 5 (Kuala Terengganu - Kuantan), stage 6 (Kuantan - Bera), stage 7 (Tanjung Malim-Genting) and will end in stage 8 of Criterium race in Dataran Merdeka.
